Shadows, Peppermint Mochas, and Tagalog (#8)

On Tuesday, I had a shadow at Bellarmine, a Catholic all-boys high school. To be honest, it was kind of fun. Not only did my guide make it interesting, but the irony was a huge facepalm which I could not get over. I visited science, history, religion, and a speech and debate elective, which was very ongoing...However, the curly fries are good. The awkward situation about the shadow tour is that other students thought I was my guide's little BROTHER...I don't blame the "sense of fashion" part, but how we look though...OH C'MON!
Today, I missed a majority of my classes just to count delegates for the Hall of Fame spread in my yearbook elective. I told my teachers that I will be gone for 20 minutes...which ended up being 1 HOUR! I missed a huge load of studying for assessments. I also checked the ballots, with me being a very common delegate...IN 5 CATEGORIES (Funniest, Unique, Internet Sensation, Fashion Sense, and Fanboy)! Is that how people think of me; no offense.
At Starbucks, a very kind woman ordered 4 different coffees, but was accidentally given 4 of the same coffee, Peppermint Mochas. What did she do? Coincidentally, she only took 1, and gave the other 3 to Andrew, Reagan, and I. 5 DRINKS FOR THE PRICE OF $9.10! The Peppermint Mocha could use some sugar since it is kind of bitter at first, but the smell! Ugh, I love that smell (dark chocolate and peppermint...)
I am also learning how to speak Tagalog, which is a Filipino language. Trust me, it's not easy. I have to keep figuring out what Reagan and my parents are saying to me. I thank them for helping me, but they could at least tell me what they are saying after they are speaking Tagalog. I stayed up for one night just to write about 12 pages worth of Tagalog and English translations. Wow, that is pretty die-hard just to learn a new language.
The rest of the day, Reagan, Andrew, Ben, Thomas, Arben, and I just play old-school hide and seek...with Hunger Games style running. It's like your P.E. teacher is watching and forcing you to run like heck. I swear, Andrew is like the freaking Flash or Quicksilver. I feel like nicknaming him "PE Shorts" now...I nearly fainted a couple of times because of him. Andrew, if you are reading this, please save up your money to pay for my medical bills...

Eleven People and Prank Calls (#7)

It has been a LONG weekend! It has been full of hangouts and encounters with ELEVEN people: Andrew, Reagan, Arben, Thomas, Ben, Liam, Ciara, Doug, Lexi, Brandon, and Amanda.
Let's start off with Reagan, Andrew, Arben, Thomas, and Ben. I have financial problems with Reagan already. I let him have money so he can buy food or snacks, and he claims he is going to pay me back. Guess what? He only paid me a simple dollar so far, and that was only on that day! As far as I have heard, Andrew bought Reagan three bagels and Reagan has given him one bagel. WHAT THE HECK!?! Afterwards, I end up sitting on a chair at Kumon, and guess who comes in...Arben, Reagan's devilish little brother...I barely met the guy and he is already taunting and teasing me. That is kind of hypocritical since I creep people out first before I give a hello. I don't even know what Arben talks to me about, except his weird insults towards Reagan and I. The problem with both of them is that they ask me for stuff, and they fight over MY iPad. It's like my parents having a television while living in the Philippines. Neighbors would come to their house to watch their television.
What happens next is that I am doing homework with Reagan, which I actually enjoy. I then discover that Ben, an eighth grade classmate, and Thomas, a sixth grader with a "creative" mind who already teases me during a WEB orientation, are neighbors right across. Are there any more secrets or surprises I should know? The next day after school, Reagan and I are munching at McDonalds and we end up back at his apartment. As we are doing homework, even though it was Friday, Reagan drops his eraser down the balcony. After Reagan goes down and throws his eraser back up, I threw it down again, and I am forced to pick it up. I go down and nearly throw it against Reagan's face. I ask Reagan to tell me Andrew's number because I got bored so why not prank call? It was a pain to get his number but luckily Arben stepped in, even though we framed him.
I call Andrew three times without saying a word. He comes to Reagan's apartment and says that this weird stranger keeps calling him, and all he hears is "a bag of chips." A bag of chips? Are you starving, Andrew or Reagan? I call him a fourth time inside the apartment, and Andrew answers with a hello. I grab my phone out and say "Hello?" His reaction was blank, yet priceless. Then, we just ended the night with The Avengers on my iPad.
On Saturday, I hang out with my good friends, Liam and Ciara. Ciara is a freshman who we call "Mom." She names me "Oops." Before Ciara arrived, I am back at McDonalds with Liam and once again we are bored. So I give Andrew's number to Liam to prank call, but he ends up telling his real name and stands out in front of Andrew's door. I would've done that with a creepy mask, but now? We run into Doug and Lexi, who are waiting for Amanda's arrival. Lexi and I trick Doug into thinking that Liam and Ciara are dating, which causes him to freak out publicly in a CVS. Drama queen much? If they were dating I would be like, "Okay, that's cool. No harm done." We run into Brandon and honestly I think this is a really weird coincidence. I ask him on KIK if he wants to meet up with us and he is just standing there. What sorcery is this? Amanda comes along and, shortly after, she almost gets ran over! She's alive, so okay. Apparently, Amanda and Lexi love kicking groins, especially after Lexi tricked me into giving me $5 if she can kick me without flinching. She doesn't, so she tried to kick me again and I kick her too and we both fell to the ground in pain.
The awkward part is that we all arrive at Andrew's apartment again. We ding-dong ditched at first, then we creeped him out by standing there. It is like we are planning a murder on him. We get to Reagan's apartment, again, and he tags along and we try to go to Doug's apartment. Before that, Andrew nearly could've killed himself. Jokingly, Andrew yells out "I don't wanna live," and lies on the road. Wait until he finds out that an ACTUAL CAR is coming down on our side of the street...
So Saturday was filled with groin-kicking, near-death by cars, creepy standing outside front doors, and Liam's mom swearing at the drivers. What a joy ride...

Fake Blood and "Watch This!" (#6)

So, thanks to Vy, I never got the fake blood back that I let her borrowed for Halloween until yesterday. I opened the bottle and it clogged up with cotton, and I wanted to check if it was stuck inside the bottle. In a dumb move, I flipped the bottle upside-down, and squeezed it. A load of blood splattered on the floor, and splatted on our legs! There is a huge red stain on the ground, and it is so freaking disturbing. The other students keep looking at it like something suspicious happened. At least a staff member hasn't seen it...but the red stain is still on the ground!
I have been watching this foreign movie that has made me cry every single time, called The Love of Siam. I told my friends to watch it, and least the first 95 minutes and the ending, and I warned them to use "tissues." I got 3 of my friends to watch it, who cried or said it was "SOO CUTE!!!" Capri and Krystal are in awe, and Erin is using tissues. It's really hard to believe that you can barely understand what the movie is saying, but makes you cry a lot! Unless you read with the English subtitles, you're going to cry a river!

Halloween and Foreign Movies (#5)

Apparently, Halloween got weirder this year. Around school, I had a huge bucket of candy to pass out around school. Why? It's Halloween, duh! The students were craving for candy like the creatures from Gremlins. They were EVERYWHERE! "GIMME SOME SPACE!" The other problem was the hoggers, who kept taking handfuls from the bucket. One person took 3 or 4 handfuls, and he gave me $5 (which I accepted). In the end, I was left with about 6 Tootsie Rolls. Then, people kept asking me to join them on something for Halloween:
  • Trick-or-Treat with Sanjay and Prasanna
  • Trick-or-Treat with Raegan and Andrew
  • Trick-or-Treat with Erin, Meg, Kaylie, Max, Regina, and Adrian
  • Play Five Nights at Freddy's at Max's house
  • Trick-or-Treat with the family
OH MY GOSH! I ended up going to Max's house and trick-or-treating with the family. The neighborhood I was in kept commenting on my costume, non-stop! I get it; I have blood, a barbed-wire bat, hammer, skeleton mask, and a giant pumpkin pail (I was a Purger from The Purge: Anarchy). At Max's house, the screaming kept bursting in my ear, thanks to Foxy and the "evil fan." We made to Night 4 as far as I know. To end the night, I lied to my friends saying I broke my leg after someone pushed me down the porch. It's nice to know that some of my friends actually care.

On Saturday, I came across this movie from Thailand, so I had no idea what they were saying! I had to use English subtitles. It's a 3-hour long movie, titled The Love of Siam, about two childhood best friends who grow up and discover that they love each other. It's a gay (not offensive) coming-of-age movie. I watched it 3 times and cried every single time! 9 HOURS WITH OF CRYING! I dragged my friends into watching because it was flawless! And I am still crying as I am writing this blog post!
